CRYSTAL PALACE ace Jordan Ayew bravely played on with FIVE stitches in his head after a sickening clash with Leeds man Robin Koch.
The pair smacked heads when they both jumped for the same ball at a corner just before the break.
And it was Ayew, 31, who came off worse.
He was sent to the floor by the impact, and lay flat out on the ground in worrying scenes.
The Crystal Palace medical staff quickly ran on to tend to the stricken star, and Koch himself also needing treatment from the Leeds medics.
Ayew suffered a nasty gash above his eyebrow, with the Sky Sports coverage claiming he needed FIVE stitches to the cut.

After a lengthy stoppage, both Ayew and Koch were deemed fit enough to be able to continue playing.
Ayew was sent back onto the field with his head heavily bandaged up.
The forward was then subbed off on 65 minutes.
And fans were left questioning if letting Ayew play on following the sickening clash of heads was the right decision.

One wrote: Never mind Ayew just being assessed, there is no way that he should have been allowed to be allowed to continue after that collision of heads. Safety and common sense has to prevail, not the result or the game.”

On the pitch Pascal Struijk gave Leeds the lead after some excellent work from Brenden Aaronsen on the right hand side.
But Palace responded with goals from Odsonne Edouard and Eberechi Eze to secure a comeback win for Patrick Vieira’s side.
