Roy Keane hints at managerial return with Man Utd legend a shock visitor at Preston vs West Brom

ROY KEANE was a shock visitor at Preston vs West Brom on Wednesday night to set tongues wagging about a managerial return.

Manchester United legend Keane does want to be a boss again — as we revealed last year — despite his Sky Sports pundit role.

But Steve Bruce looks like he is staying in charge of the Baggies for now and has the backing of chief executive Ron Gourlay.

Keane was spotted in the stands as Preston beat West Brom 1-0 to pile the pressure on Bruce.

The Baggies boss was then confronted by a fuming fan after the defeat.

Bruce, however, remained in charge for today’s home meeting against Luton Town.

But again the Baggies dropped points as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home.

Keane managed Sunderland between 2006 and 2008, before taking the Ipswich Town job between 2009 and 2011.

The Old Trafford legend has also been assistant manager of Republic of Ireland, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

He left Forest in 2019 and has been a pundit on Sky Sports since the same year.

Earlier this year he admitted he was interested in a return to management, but snubbed a return to Sunderland.

Pressure is on Baggies boss Bruce after just ONE win in 13 Championship games to start the campaign.

West Brom are currently 22nd, and in the relegation zone, after eight draws and four defeats to go with their solitary victory.
