WOLVES chiefs are in no rush to fast-track a replacement for Bruno Lage who was sacked on Sunday.
Despite Wolves dropping into the drop zone following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at West Ham, club chiefs are patiently working on their short list of potential candidates.
And it seems certain under-21s boss James Collins and his under-18s counterpart Steve Davis will be in temporary charge for Saturday’s tough trip to Chelsea.
The Molineux club have suffered an early setback with sources in Portugal claiming one of their key targets Ruben Amorim has no desire to quit his current club Sporting Lisbon.
The Lisbon giants face a tough trip to Marseille in the Champions’ League this week and Amorim is not ready to swap the opportunity of performing in the most high profile tournament in club football, for a relegation battle with Wolves.
The fact he has a £20million-plus buy-out clause and also employs a rival agent to Wolves’ highly influential super agent Jorge Mendes appears too big an obstacle to overcome.

Former Olympiacos boss Pedro Martins remains high on Wolves’ wish list and is currently available after being sacked by owner Evangelos Marinakis – who also owns Nottingham Forest.
The 52-year-old’s dismissal came after he failed to make the group stages of the Champions’ League.
However his stock remains high after winning the Greek title in three of his four seasons in charge, as well as the Greek Cup and he is linked to Mendes’ Gestifute agency.
Martins recently turned down the chance to manage Hull City and would jump at the chance to manage in the Premier League, however Wolves are weighing up their options carefully as they know any slip could threaten their Premier future.

Julen Lopetegui is another key candidate, with vast experience and could soon be a free agent as he remains on the brink of being sacked by Sevilla.
The Spaniard almost joined Wolves but politely declined to take the Spain job. He has since managed Spanish giants Real Madrid before joining Sevilla in 2019.
However Lopetegui’s time at Sevilla looks over and Wolves are watching developments there with interest.
The same could be said closer to home as the club’s recruitment team keep a watchful eye on events at the King Power Stadium tonight.

Brendan Rodgers and Steve Cooper go into the game under huge pressure which will not ease anytime soon.
Although neither boss has links with Mendes, their experience of English football would appeal to Wolves chiefs who need a safe pair of hands to make sure they retain their top flight status.
