The win put City second in the table a point behind Arsenal and on a personal note it continued Haaland’s unbelievable start to life at Man City.

Here are the records the Norwegian sensation broke in Sunday’s rout:

Three consecutive hat-tricks

Haaland set a new Premier League landmark as he became the first player to score three hat-tricks in three consecutive home matches.

Haaland’s run started against Crystal Palace when he dragged his team from 1-2 down to win 4-2 as he netted three times in 20 minutes to seal victory.

This was then followed up by his perfect hat-trick (right foot, left foot and header goals) as City demolished Nottingham Forest 6-0.

Then his ruthless display versus Man Utd put his name in the history books.

Top scorer in Europe

The goal machine’s latest treble took his tally up to 14 in the Prem.

This means he is this season’s top scorer in Europe’s top five leagues and he is ahead by a big margin.

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is his nearest challenger on nine goals and Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe is on eight.

It feels like the golden boot for the Premier League will certainly be heading his way with Tottenham’s Harry Kane the closest to catching him on seven.

Direct goal involvements

Haaland’s record breaking afternoon did not stop there – he had a hand in five of City’s six goals also assisting Foden twice.

As a result, the 22-year-old has smashed the record for most goal contributions in one Manchester derby.

Notable stats

Haaland also became the first Man City player to score a hat-trick against their local rivals since 1970 when Francis Lee scored three times at Old Trafford.

Kelechi Iheanacho is the youngest player for Man City to score versus Man Utd netting when he was just 19-years-old. Haaland is now the second youngest.

He just about pips Foden who is older than the striker by two months.

It was a bad day for Cristiano Ronaldo as he was left on the substitute bench for the entirety of the game and was seen looking fuming.

And now it means Haaland has scored as many Premier League hat-tricks as the Portuguese legend has despite playing just EIGHT matches in England.
