A fourth tweeted: “OUCH!!!!! Bowen dislocated his finger.”

And a further supporter joked: “Support group for everyone who briefly saw Bowen’s finger then please.”

Bowen’s goal was a crucial one for David Moyes’ side, who went into the match languishing in the bottom three.

Gianluca Scamacca’s brilliant first-half strike gave them the lead.

Before Bowen’s strike clinched the much-needed three points… even if it came at a painful cost.

Following the match, boss David Moyes joked of Bowen’s finger dislocating: “His feet have been doing that at times this season.”

The Scot then added: “That was huge for Jarrod. I told him that if he scores five or six goals he’ll be on that aeroplane. Today was a typical Jarrod Bowen goal. That was more like Jarrod.”
