Spurs ace Richarlison has banana thrown at him by fan in sickening scenes after scoring for Brazil vs Tunisia in Paris

RICHARLISON suffered sickening racist abuse after scoring for Brazil last night when a vile fan hurled a banana at him.

The Tottenham star forward put his country 2-1 up in the friendly against ten-man Tunisia in Paris at the Parc des Princes.

As Richarlison celebrated his first-half goal, a banana was thrown towards him.

Brazil team-mate and Manchester United midfielder Fred kicked it off the pitch.

Richarlison and his Brazil pals had put out an anti-racism message prior to kick-off that reminded fans of the importance of black players in Brazil’s history.

The team posed next to a banner that read: “Without our black players, we wouldn’t have stars on our shirts.”

The statement came in response to Vinicius Jr twice being racially abused in the build-up to Real Madrid’s game against Atletico Madrid nine days ago.

First the winger was told to “respect rivals and stop playing the monkey” by Spanish agent Pedro Bravo after he celebrated scoring against Mallorca.

Real Madrid promised legal action but Vinicius took matters into his own hands as he defiantly danced in celebration alongside Rodrygo against Atletico.

That came not long after Vinicius was racially abused by Atletico fans before the game got underway.

Fans gathered outside the Wanda Metropolitano as players made their way into the stadium and some members of the fanbase began chanting the words: “You are a monkey, Vinicius you are a monkey”.

Brazil’s official Twitter account quickly reiterated its anti-racism stance after Tuesday’s disgusting incident.

A post said: “Unfortunately, after the action, a banana was thrown on the pitch towards Richarlison, author of the second Brazilian goal.

“CBF reinforces its position to combat racism and repudiates any prejudiced manifestation.”

President of the Brazilian FA, Ednaldo Rodrigues added in a statement: “Once again, I come publicly to express my rejection. This time I saw it with my own eyes. This shocks us. We must always remember that we are all the same, regardless of colour, race or religion.

“The fight against racism is not a cause, but a fundamental change to wipe this type of crime from the planet. I insist on saying that the punishments need to be more severe.”

Richarlison came off for Vinicius at half-time with Brazil leading 4-1.

Barcelona’s former Leeds star Raphinha had opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a brilliant header from the edge of the area.

However, Tunisia equalised seven minutes later with an opportunistic header by Montassar Talbi from a free-kick.

Brazil were back in front a minute later though when Raphinha found Richarlison ghosting behind the defence and the striker fired a low shot between the keeper’s legs, for his seventh goal in six games for his country.

Brazil extended their lead through a Neymar penalty in the 29th minute after Aissa Laidouni held Casemiro back.

Raphinha scored his second with a precise low shot from the edge of the area in the 40th after a lightning counter-attack.

Two minutes later, Tunisia defender Dylan Bronn received a straight red card for a foul on Neymar.

With victory assured, Brazil eased off in the second half as manager Tite sent on several substitutes.
