Man Utd ratings: Rashford back to his best, Antony an instant hero and Eriksen the shrewdest of signings

MANCHESTER UNITED extended their winning streak to four matches with an impressive 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford.

United manager Erik ten Hag handed a full debut to Antony just three days after his £85.5million move from Ajax on Deadline Day.

And the winger kicked things off on the right foot as he opened the scoring on 35 minutes with a clinical finish following a slick pass by Marcus Rashford.

The Gunners equalised on the hour-mark with Bukayo Saka but the Red Devils wouldn’t be denied.

Rashford proved he is back to his best as he put United back in the just six minutes later after a brilliant ball by Bruno Fernandes, who enjoyed a stunning partnership with Christian Eriksen in midfield.

The striker sealed the win after another scintillating pass by Fernandes allowed Eriksen, who participated in all three goals, to break through and set him up in the area on 75 minutes.

SunSport’s Kostas Lianos rates all of United’s stars after an impressive display against Arsenal:

David de Gea – 7

Very composed display by David de Gea, who carried no fault for Saka’s goal. Saved United from an opener by Gabriel Martinelli on 30 minutes when he tapped the Arsenal’s star’s header away.

Diogo Dalot – 6

Diogo Dalot held his ground well on the right flank throughout the match. Struggled in the opening minutes of the second half during Arsenal’s onslaught, which led to Saka’s goal.

Raphael Varane – 7

A solid performance by Raphael Varane who kept Gabriel Jesus quiet throughout the match. But was at fault for Saka’s goal as he gave the ball away in his own half.

Lisandro Martinez – 7

Lisandro Martinez continued to impress after winning Player of the Month in August as he also kept Jesus quiet. Gave United a scare at the end when he hobbled off with a knock.

Tyrell Malacia – 7

Saka kept Tyrell Malacia on his toes on the left throughout the entire first half and most of the second.

But Malacia got the better of the Arsenal star after Rashford’s first goal and looked to be dangerous in attack.

Scott McTominay – 7

Scott McTominay linked up well with Christian Eriksen in midfield. Picked up a yellow card for flooring Jesus in the second half.

Christian Eriksen – 8

A brilliant performance by Christian Eriksen, who proved United wasted no time or money signing him as he participated in all three goals.

Eriksen’s brilliant pass to Fernandes split Arsenal’s midfield open and led to Antony’s opener.

The playmaker then passed to the Portugal international before the latter’s assist for the second… before the Dane set Rashford up with an assist of his own.

Antony – 8

What a debut by Antony just three days after his arrival. The winger needed only 35 minutes to score his first United goal and dominated on the right wing in the first half.

Bruno Fernandes – 8

Another player that participated in all of United’s three goals. Fernandes found Jadon Sancho before he passed to Rashford for Antony’s goal.

Then Fernandes got the assist for Rashford’s first and found Eriksen with a brilliant ball before the England international’s second.

Jadon Sancho – 7

Jadon Sancho was the one that passed the ball to Rashford before the latter’s assist to Antony. A solid performance by the winger on the left as he gave Ben White a difficult afternoon.

Marcus Rashford – 9

Marcus Rashford is back to his best and making a strong claim to spearhead United’s frontline. Rashford registered two goals and an assist to also put himself back in England contention.

Sub: Cristiano Ronaldo – 7

Cristiano Ronaldo replaced Antony and was all smiles throughout the match, hinting he has forgotten about the exit he wanted in the summer.

Ronaldo stood out on the left wing and could have scored if Aaron Ramsdale hadn’t gotten to the ball first.

Sub: Fred – 6

Didn’t have enough time to shine but Fred did well in midfield after his introduction in the second half.

The midfielder stole a loose ball by Ramsdale, which created an opportunity for Fernandes to score but the Arsenal keeper fixed his error.

Sub: Casemiro – 6

United’s star signing didn’t have much time after coming on in the 80th minute. But did exactly what he’s famous for, keeping the lines together and protecting the score.

Sub: Harry Maguire – N/A
