‘A custard pie for getting it right’ – Jamie Carragher hits back at Cristiano Ronaldo over Man Utd star’s brutal snub

LIVERPOOL legend Jamie Carragher has hit back at Cristiano Ronaldo after he was blanked by the Manchester United forward at Old Trafford on Monday night.

The Sky Sports pundit was snubbed of a handshake by the 37-year-old prior to the Red Devils’ clash against the Reds.

Carragher has been a vocal critic of Ronaldo since he returned to the Theatre of Dreams, where he urged Errk ten Hag to axe him from his starting XI.

And his criticism could have been ringing in Ronaldo’s mind as he instead greeted former team-mates Roy Keane and Gary Neville instead.

Soccer AM tweeted on the awkward snub, as they said: “*Insert custard pie emoji*.”

Carragher instantly replied, as he commented that Ten Hag agrees with his view after Ronaldo started yesterday from the bench.

He stated: “I get a custard pie for getting it right on Ronaldo from day one!

“The custard pie for him from ETH shows the Manager thinks the same!

“Maybe the ex Man United Legends (sycophants!) will now agree with me.”

Carragher was on punditry duty last night alongside Neville and Keane when Ronaldo gate-crashed their chat.

Host Dave Jones exclaimed: “The main man is here tonight!”

Ronaldo first blanked Carragher’s attempt at a handshake as he instead embraced Neville.

Ronnie then ignored Carragher again as he moved around the Merseyside man to greet Keane.

Jones asked Ronnie: “Do you want a word with us?”, as Keane added: “Good to see you Cristiano!”

But Ronaldo was already on his way back to the warm-up, leaving Carragher smiling at the snub.

Rio Ferdinand believes that Ronaldo intentionally ignored Carragher as he wanted to humiliate him.

Speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel, he remarked: “Knowing Cristiano Ronaldo, Jamie Carragher’s been very vocal about Cristiano Ronaldo being the problem and stuff like that.

“Trust me, Cristiano would’ve seen those comments and would’ve been thinking walking over there I’ll just let this guy know with a little… he needs to kind of calm him down, humiliate him and show him up, whatever way you want to dress it up live on TV.

“Cristiano is very calculated, he’s very aware of what’s going on, he’s not somebody who sits at home and switches off.”

Before adding: “For Jamie Carragher to continually call him out, he’s got a right to his own opinion Jamie, but Cristiano will take that personally.

“He’s an emotional guy and he’ll show that his actions were no surprise to me. I find it funny, I find it hilarious to be honest.”
