MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly agreed personal terms with PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gapko – despite a price disparity with the Dutch club.
United expect to complete Gakpo’s switch before the transfer window closes.
They’ve submitted a £34million bid for the winger, but their proposal falls short of PSV’s valuation of the 23-year-old.
The Dutch outfit are holding out for at least £42m in order to let Gakpo leave, according to PSV expert Rik Elfrink.
And he claims the Red Devils can wrap up the Gakpo deal by Wednesday if they can cough up the outstanding millions.
Erik ten Hag’s side are in desperate need of new attackers following their dreadful start to the season which has seen them lose to Brighton and Brentford.

The Dutchman is looking to follow up Gakpo’s capture by bringing in Ajax star Anthony to Old Trafford after also agreeing terms with the winger.
The Brazil star, 22, has agreed to a five-year contract, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2027.
Ajax have been playing hardball thus far, but United plan to break their resolve with a fresh £80m bid this week.
Anthony and Gakpo will complete a new look United midfield including fellow new recruits Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.

Eriksen joined United earlier this summer, while United splashed £70m to bring Casemiro from Real Madrid last week.
But the Brazilian midfielder’s visa issues means he won’t complete his move in time for United’s match against Liverpool on Monday night.
However, it’s hoped he’ll be registered in time for their clash with Southampton next week.
