Chelsea in Wesley Fofana transfer boost as Leicester could cash in on defender after Southampton defeat

LEICESTER CITY are reportedly considering selling Wesley Fofana to Chelsea after their dismal start to the season.

The Foxes languish in 18th spot in the Premier League after losing two of their opening three games in the competition.

Brendan Rodgers’ side’s 2-1 defeat to Southampton on Saturday further highlighted his team’s need for new signings.

They’ve only brought in one player this summer so far, and need cash to rejuvenate their depleted squad.

And this is why The Athletic claim the Foxes are finally considering letting Fofana leave after playing hardball all summer.

Chelsea have had two bids for Fofana slapped down as they’ve fallen way below Leicester’s £85million valuation for the defender.

But the Blues could now be in luck as Leicester may be tempted by a cash-plus player offer for Fofana, the report added.

This will allow Rodgers to bring in a slew of new stars with a right-winger at the top of the list, it was also stated.

The Foxes’ new stance will be music to Fofana’s ears as he’s urged the club to let him leave for the Blues.

A move to Thomas Tuchel’s side should be smooth sailing if the Blues come to an agreement with the Foxes.

He’s already agreed personal terms with West Londoners, and missed the Foxes clash with the Saints while his future gets sorted out.

Fofana cut a forlorn figure as he watched the game with his girlfriend, and he didn’t even flash a smile when the Foxes scored.
