Tyson Fury insists if he can beat Oleksandr Usyk he can achieve dream of becoming psychologist when he retires

Tyson Fury plans to do a Masters degree in psychology – but only after he has unified the heavyweight division.

The Gypsy King announced his retirement from boxing after beating Deontay Wilder in their trilogy fight.

But he seemingly has confirmed he’ll come out of retirement to fight ‘Ukrainian dosser’ Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk beat Anthony Joshua for a second time in Saudi Arabia this weekend and is now in line for a unification bout with Fury.

Fury previously claimed that he will become a psychologist once he has achieved everything he aims to in the ring.

Speaking in 2020, the Gypsy King said: “When I was a child I dreamed of being the heavyweight champion of the world and everybody said to me, ‘that won’t happen, that won’t happen, that won’t happen’.

“They were called dream killers. There’s plenty of dream killers out there, even today they are still trying to crush my dreams.

“I have dreams of becoming a doctor, a psychologist. I want to get a Masters degree in psychology after I finish boxing.

“If I can achieve becoming the heavyweight undefeated, undisputed champion of the world from a child then I can achieve becoming a psychologist and getting a Masters degree.

“Anything is possible.”

LATEST BOXING NEWS

Fury has been very open about his own mental health issues that derailed his career after his win over Wladimir Klitschko.

The 6ft 9in powerhouse ballooned up to 27stone during his battle against depression, alcohol and drug abuse.

But he proved to his fans that anything is possible as he bounced back to claim his spot at the top of heavyweight boxing.

He now holds the WBC title after beating Deontay Wilder twice.

And he’s aiming to add the rest of the belts to his collection that Usyk currently holds.
