DAVID DE GEA reckons Manchester United’s flops are getting “panicky” during their disastrous start to the season.
And the United keeper, who admits he was to blame for Saturday’s 4-0 humiliation at Brentford, claims the Premier League bottom club are still suffering a hangover from previous disappointing seasons.
United have now lost their first two top-flight games under new boss Erik ten Hag.
De Gea said: “Of course, there have been some difficult seasons and probably, it’s still in our minds.
“When something goes wrong people get panicky. It’s difficult. But we have to learn, we have a new manager and some new players. We need to be more positive, keep learning and improve.
“It’s about winning games. As soon as we win one game, two games, we’re going to start feeling better and more positive.”

De Gea accepted he was to blame for the first two goals in West London which saw United trail by four goals after 35 minutes.
The Spanish keeper let a shot from Josh Dasilva slip through his hands for the first and then delivered a suicidal pass to Christian Eriksen which ended with Brentford’s Mathias Jensen pouncing to score the second
De Gea said: “I must take responsibility. I cost points to the team. That first goal cannot happen. As a team we should react much better than we did, but I think I cost the team points.”
As for the first strike, De Gea said: “Sometimes you think it’s an easy ball and you don’t put the proper focus on the ball, that happens in football and in life. Sometimes you make mistakes.

“Now the most important thing is to keep training well, keep training to help the team, but today was a horrible game.”
Admitting he should not have delivered the pass to Eriksen for the second, he added: “I should read the game better. They were pressing really well and high so maybe I should play longer balls. But that’s football again, It happens.
Asked what a fuming ten Hag said at half-time, De Gea added: “Unacceptable, what we were doing on the pitch. Nothing else to be honest. It was horrible.
“We have to stick together as a team now, train even harder and even better, I can’t say more to be honest.”
United’s next game is at home to Liverpool next Monday. In the same fixture last season, Jurgen Klopp’s side won 5-0 at Old Trafford.
De Gea added: “We’re training really well, people are training hard and everyone is giving everything, to be honest, but then in the games we are not performing.”
