As the Premier League celebrates its 30th anniversary, Betfair teamed up with YouGOV for a poll of more than 1,000 people.

And they decided Henry is the No1 star to appear in the Premier League.

Henry scored an incredible 175 goals – 174 of those coming in his heroic spell between 1999 and 2007 plus one in his brief return in 2011-12.

He also chipped in with 74 assists in his 258 appearances in England’s top flight.

And the French icon secured four Golden Boots, four Player of the Months awards and was twice named Player of the Season.

To top it off, Henry won the Premier League twice with Arsenal – including the 2003-04 Invincibles season.

But away from the stats, it was his style of play and sheer entertainment factor that attracted so many fans to the Frenchman – especially in North London.

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner and wantaway Manchester United superstar Ronaldo came second in the vote with all-time top goalscorer Shearer third.

Eric Cantona, Steven Gerrard, Dennis Bergkamp, Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, Ryan Giggs and Sergio Aguero completed the top ten.

The survey also gave supporters a chance to have their say on the best goal and the best moment in the last three decades.

Bergkamp’s incredible piece of skill and finish at Newcastle came out as the best goal.

That edged out Wayne Rooney’s overhead kick and Henry’s stunner against United in 2000.

And unsurprisingly, Aguero’s last-gasp winner against QPR to secure the title in 2012 is the No1 moment.

That was a pretty obvious choice across fans from around the country.

However, only four per cent of United supporters chose the incredible Etihad finale – with 44 per cent going for Steve Bruce’s dramatic double against Sheffield Wednesday in 1993.
