‘Getting a few tips’ – Erling Haaland ready to be Prem ‘entertainer’ as Man City star meets record scorer Alan Shearer

ERLING HAALAND vowed to be an ‘entertainer’ for Manchester City.

The Norwegian hitman, 22, is hungry for goals as he prepares to make his Premier League debut for the champions at West Ham on Sunday.

Haaland is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for success —  having met the league’s 260-goal record scorer Alan Shearer.

The City striker shared a snap on Instagram of the deadly duo and said: “Got a few tips from this guy today.”

Haaland arrives with a huge reputation after his goal-scoring exploits at Borussia Dortmund — netting 86 in 89 games.

But he still knows there is much to improve on and he feels sure he is at the right club — and with the right manager in Pep Guardiola — to do exactly that.

Haaland admitted: “You are kind of an entertainer, judged every week for what you do on the pitch.

“You have to deliver but, as a striker, this is something I can’t stress about.

“It’s  about trying to enjoy it, live in the moment. People talk about what you did a year ago — but it’s only the next game that counts.

“I’m a player who is hungry for goals, gives 100 per cent, and wants to win every game.”

Haaland had only been at Dortmund for two-and-a-half-years, however he felt the time was right for a new challenge.

He said: “Part of the game is to get out of your comfort zone, something I’ve been doing and something I like. You develop more as a human.

“As a young player, playing for Guardiola, playing for the best club in England, I still have to keep developing and get a lot better.

“What can I improve on now? Everything. I’m still young, only 22. It’s about developing.”

And Haaland already seems to have struck up an understanding with some team-mates, including £100m British-record signing Jack Grealish.

But the £51.4m ace knows it may take time with other players at the Etihad.

He added: “Chemistry on the pitch with other players is something that will come — I don’t know if it will take weeks or months.

“But it’s something I have to build every day.

“At this level, you must understand people around you — he is good at this, he is good at that, he loves to play the ball there. That’s life as a footballer.”
