Tottenham boss Antonio Conte fumes at ‘disrespectful’ Bayern Munich after manager confirms Harry Kane transfer interest

ANTONIO CONTE has hit back at rumours linking Harry Kane with a move to Bayern Munich – accusing the German club of being “disrespectful”.

Kane scored twice at Ibrox this afternoon to inspire Tottenham to a 2-1 comeback win over Rangers.

Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann has been vocal in his admiration of the England captain, saying yesterday Kane would “score a lot in the Bundesliga”.

Meanwhile Bayern Chief Executive Oliver Kahn revealed in the week it would be a “dream” to sign the Tottenham forward.

Conte though has been stern in his response to Bayern’s public flirtation with Kane.

He insisted talisman Kane remains key to his “project” at Tottenham, while aiming a dig at Nagelsmann for publicly expressing his interest.

When asked about Bayern’s comments after Spurs’ win over Rangers, Conte said: “Honestly I didn’t hear this. For sure I’m a coach who doesn’t talk about players from other teams. I don’t know why [this happened].

“The situation at Tottenham is very clear. The plan is very clear with the club. Harry is a part of the project. He is a very important part of the project and yeah only rumours.”

Conte slammed Bayern for the way they have gone about expressing their interest in Kane.

The 51-year-old Italian insisted he would never discuss players from another club to his own.

Conte continued: “At the same time I repeat I don’t like to speak about players from another club.

“If I want to do something I go to speak to the club, not through the media.

“I think maybe it’s a bit disrespectful for the other club. This is my way. This is my way to face the situation with other players.”

Kane had been open to leaving Spurs last season and was close to a move to Manchester City before the Cityzens baulked at Spurs’ £150million asking price.

The superstar striker has just two years left on his current deal.

Reports in May said Kane is prepared to hold discussions over an extension, but Bayern are now in the market for a striker after selling Robert Lewandowski.
