GARY NEVILLE blasted BT Sport’s coverage of the Champions League final after viewers were left unaware of the chaos unfolding outside the Stade de France.

Kick-off for the game was delayed by 36 minutes as Reds fans were tear-gassed and pepper-sprayed and thousands were denied entry.

BT Sport’s team, who were positioned inside the stadium, struggled to update viewers with the ongoing situation outside the ground.

And Sky Sports pundit Neville hit out at the rival broadcaster, slamming BT for not reacting to the developing events with Liverpool fans.

He replied to a tweet from The Athletic’s Adam Crafton that said: “Surprised BT Sport don’t have a team on standby outside of stadium, getting little to no sense of the major story from the broadcaster.”

Liverpool have demanded a Uefa probe into the scenes that marred the final, which Real Madrid won 1-0.

A club statement said: “We are hugely disappointed at the stadium entry issues and breakdown of the security perimeter that Liverpool fans faced this evening at Stade de France.
