“And Liverpool and Man City will do everything to even make their squads bigger.
“They set the standard so, so high and it will take the same to be competitive next season.

Mount of a task

The Frenchman has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay at L’OM
Why would he?
Former Manchester City ace David James questioned why Gabriel Jesus would want to leave the Etihad for Arsenal.
James told Genting Casino: “If you look at Man City players’ appearances this season, Bernardo Silva and Rodri have played 30-plus Premier League games, but all the players in that attacking line-up have played around 25 games, so they’re not playing every week.
“Pep [Guardiola’s] rotation has worked perfectly in the sense that they won the Premier League again. I’d imagine [Erling] Haaland would fit into that mold, he’s not going to play every game. Also, with his injuries, there are question marks over whether he is physically capable of playing all the games.
“That being said, Jesus will have a shared role if he stays at Manchester City. This isn’t a buy-a-player-and-use-him-all-the-time situation, so there is still room for Jesus and why would he want to leave?
“You’ve got the best team in England over the past five years, so would he risk it by moving somewhere else to Arsenal, who aren’t even in the Champions League, or would he rather stay at Man City and try to get the Holy Grail, which is the Champions League?”
Arteta on Elneny
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is “delighted” with Mohamed Elneny’s new contract.

“He brings endless energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the team and is loved by everyone.
“He’s an important player for us on and off the pitch, a real role model to our younger players and I’m delighted he’s staying”
Nketiah turning Eds
Arsenal star Eddie Nketiah has enjoyed a stunning body transformation over recent years from a skinny teenage hopeful into a hulking Premier League striker.
Nketiah previously revealed how he spent the first lockdown in 2020 bulking up to cope better with the Prem’s physicality.
And the striker, who is set to become a free agent next month, certainly flexed his notably bigger muscles in the top-flight this term for the Gunners.

“Little, simple stuff, but it gives you an extra yard or two to get in the box and finish”
Van Persie helps Nelson

Nelson told The Athletic: “Yeah, I speak with him.
“Sometimes he comes over on a Wednesday, before Europa Conference League games on a Thursday.
“I ask him about what positions I need to be getting in. Certain movements I need to be doing, certain finishes.
“He’s amazing. He makes it so much simpler for you to understand. Sometimes the ball will come inside, and you go to smash it.
“He’s just like, ‘Look, make sure you get [good] contact, make sure your body is this way, make sure you just want to hit it into the corner’”
Your in luck

The Foxes, though, could play hardball despite the dwindling months on the Belgium international’s contract and demand over £30m.
SunSport, though, exclusively revealed it could take as much as £40m to prise him away

Tammy Abraham boost
Roma manager Jose Mourinho insists Arsenal target Tammy Abraham just has to “click his fingers” and he can return to the Premier League.
Mourinho told Sky Sports: “I don’t think it’s an easy decision for a young player to leave his club, his house, his city, his country and to leave the Premier League which is of course a competition that when a player is in its hard to leave.
“He took that option and I think he took it because he trusted me. And I think in this moment, if he wants to go back to England – I don’t think he wants to no – but if he wants to go back to England he just needs to click his fingers and I’m so happy for him.
“He’s back in the national team and is loved in Rome.
“I don’t say proven everybody wrong, because I think everyone knows he’s a good player and I think also, with [Chris] Smalling, [Fikayo] Tomori and Tammy, showing the English boys that there is life outside the Premier League and in Italy there’s a life that makes them even better players”

Arsenal may convince Eddie Nketiah to sign a new deal at the Emirates.

Arsenal are preparing for a major transfer overhaul this summer after drawing up a shortlist with 11 players on it.
The Gunners’ priority is to sign a new striker, with Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus heading the list, according to The Athletic.
The North Londoners are also keeping tabs on Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak, and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen in case they miss out on Jesus.
Arsenal director Edu remains a firm admirer of Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez, but a new deal signed earlier this season could make him unattainable at a cost-effective price.
They have also moved quickly to sign Marquinhos, with the winger set to undergo medicals and finalise a deal.
While Arsenal’s striker list is extensive, in midfield their options are far more narrowed down, with Leicester’s Youri Tielemans and Wolves’ Ruben Neves both wanted.
Despite William Saliba not wanting to return to Arsenal, boss Mikel Arteta wants him back.
Arteta is now finally keen to integrate his young star into his Arsenal defence.
Gareth Southgate has named Arsenal stars Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White and Bukayo Saka in his 27-man England squad for the upcoming Nations League matches.
