Arsenal set to sit down with William Saliba over new long-term deal to keep defender after impressive Marseille loan

ARSENAL are planning to hold talks with William Saliba’s representatives in the next few weeks, reports suggest.

That is according to Goal’s Charles Watts, who reports that the Gunners and Saliba’s agent will meet to discuss a new deal as the club still rates the defender highly.

Arsenal have always insisted the Frenchman is part of manager Mikel Arteta’s plans.

The 21-year-old joined Arsenal from St-Etienne in 2019 in a £27million deal and was sent back on loan to the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium soon after.

Saliba was then loaned out to Nice last year before joining Marseille in the summer.

The France international has been impressive this season with the OM, playing 40 appearances across all competitions.
