FORMER England star Kieron Dyer has quit his role as U23s manager at Ipswich, the club where he launched his career.
Dyer, 43, had been in the job since October 2020 and five months ago was told he needed a liver transplant after being diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis.

Chief executive Mark Ashton said: “It has come as a surprise to us that Kieron wishes to stand down.
“He has played his part in the development of some of our young players and we thank him for his efforts.
“I speak on behalf of everyone at the club in wishing Kieron all the very best with his future.”

Town beat Charlton 5-1 in their last outing at The Valley.
And with just five fixtures remaining this season Dyer’s old team will be looking to finish strong.
Town will travel away to Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol and Peterborough.
They also have a home game against Hull City, and will finish off the season on their own turf against Sheffield United.
