Jake Paul presents radical plan to fix dodgy judging in boxing after Jack Catterall was robbed against Josh Taylor

JAKE PAUL is the latest to weigh in on Josh Taylor’s controversial win over Jack Catterall – by suggesting an all-new points system.

Taylor, 31, escaped with the undisputed super-lightweight world titles and his unbeaten record, leaving Catterall victim of another robbery in a British ring.

Officials Victor Loughlin and Ian John-Lewis came under scrutiny for scoring the fight in Taylor’s favour.

But Howard Foster showed some sense with his 113-112 card to Catterall, leaving the verdict split.

The scoring was slammed by just about everyone, from fans online, to pundits as well as fighters of the past and present, all left in disgust.

YouTube star-turned prizefighter Paul, 25, gave his view on Twitter and called for a six-person judging panel.

He tweeted: “I think there should be 6 boxing judges for title fights 3 pairs of 2.

“Each pair has to agree on the same score at the end of the round & if they don’t they briefly debate their reasoning.

“Almost like a jury system. These poor decisions change the shape of the sport forever.”

Paul, unbeaten but largely untested at 5-0, added: “Or something like this idea. This is just a quick little brainstorm.”

The British Boxing Board of Control will launch an investigation into the scoring of Taylor’s win, it was confirmed.

BBOBC General Secretary Robert Smith told the Daily Telegraph: “We will be looking into it.

“There were some very close rounds, it was a very close, very scrappy fight, and I have asked for reports from the judges which we will be studying this week.

“Our judges are honest people, and scored it as they saw it. I was there, and I thought Catterall pipped it.”

These poor decisions change the shape of the sport forever.

Catterall, 28, broke his silence a day after the result and hit out at the sport, as his performance of a lifetime went to waste.

He posted: “You know what hurts the most, it wasn’t for me, I done all of this for my family my team, my town and country.

“My baby girl and misses, our future. Today I should of been waking up with all of the belts. 15 months out the ring, they all wrote me off.

“F**k me in every way possible for over two years, finally got the fight.

“Sacrificed everything to fight one of the top p4p ranked fighters, gave him a lesson. For what. Boxing shame on you.”
