EDINSON CAVANI is reportedly open to listen to offers from Brazilian side Botafogo in the summer.
The 35-year-old veteran’s contract with Man United is up in the summer and it’s unlikely that he’ll be extending his tenure at Old Trafford despite the club’s interim boss Ralf Rangnick’s reluctance to let him go.
The striker’s first-team opportunities with United have been limited this season and he’s only made 15 appearances in all competitions – hitting the net just twice.
Despite his age, Cavani still feels he’s got something to offer on the pitch and is keen for more playing time.
Cavani’s desire for first-team football has led his representatives to seek out fresh pastures for the attacker.
And one possible destination being touted for Cavani is Botafogo.
The disgruntled Uruguayan’s agents ostensibly reached out to the South American side to see if they would be interested in doing business for Cavani, according to Goal.
But talks between the two parties are still fresh and the fine details of any potential deal – such as contract length and wages – haven’t been discussed yet.

Botafogo’s representatives may find the time to meet with Cavani when a delegation from the club travel to England this weekend to amalgamate with Crystal Palace – who have entered into a partnership with the South American outfit, the Daily Mail reported.
Palace’s co-owner John Textor recently purchased the Rio de Janeiro-based club – and they’ll be heading to the Eagles’ academy to scrutinise the intricacies of their set-up.
However, if Cavani’s happy with the deal Botafago present, Goal claim he’d be willing to pack his bags and jet back to his home region.
At the present moment, Cavani’s raking in around £250,000 per week at Old Trafford and it remains to be seen whether Botafago will be able to match those high wages.
Which is why it’s been suggested that the former Paris Saint-Germain forward is holding out for a move to the La Liga – where titans such as Real Madrid, Barcelona or Atletico Madrid could provide him with a final lucrative pay-day.
Cavani will get the chance the check out Atletico’s facilities tonight when United take on Diego Simeone’s side in the Champions League last-16 first-leg clash.
But he’ll likely have to witness the scintillating spectacle from the bench as United’s interim boss Ralf Rangnick is expected to leave the injury-ravaged striker out of his starting eleven.
