ARSENAL fans fumed at Mikel Arteta for the Gunners’ cross-heavy approach against Brentford.

But most of the crosses were far too high for Alexandre Lacazette – who was leading the line – to get on the end of.

The Emirates faithful were baffled by the sheer number of aimless balls into the box and took to Twitter to express their dismay.

One asked: “Why are Arsenal players constantly whipping in float crosses to small fowards like Lacazette?

“Giroud left this club 4 years ago for goodness sake. There isn’t anyone who is an areal presence at this club barring Gabriel.

“Why can’t they just drill these crosses low!?”

Another asked: “Is Giroud still playing for Arsenal? Judging by the amount of crosses we do.
