EDDIE HEARN has seemingly performed a major U-turn on a potential fight between Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder.
Hearn revealed late last year that a dust-up Del Boy and the former WBC heavyweight champ was on his 2022 wishlist.
But the Matchroom Boxing chief has since changed his mind on the bout after further evaluation of Chisora’s performance against Joseph Parker last December.
During an appearance on talkSPORT, he said: “It was only a throwaway comment from me saying if the fight went four or five rounds, I think he’d beat Wilder.
“It’s obviously a very dangerous fight [against Wilder].”
Chisora, 38, suffered a lopsided points defeat to Parker in their rematch but was quick to dismiss talk of retirement.
And a fight with elder statesman of the division Luis Ortiz is currently in the pipeline for the former world title challenger.
Hearn revealed: “There’s been a few talks about Chisora against Luis Ortiz with those guys. I like that fight.”

Fan favourite Chisora fancied the idea of a clash with the heavy-handed Wilder, telling iFL TV: “Some people say no, some people say yes but it’s up to me.
“I say yes. If it’s a good fight we wanna make it happen. We wanna make good fights happen.”
Chisora’s coach Dave Coldwell, however, is firmly against the bout – so much so he’s refused to play any part in it.
He told talkSPORT: “It’s not something I want to see. I think it’s just too hard a night for him.
“Derek’s Derek and he’ll do what he wants to do. It doesn’t matter what anybody says, it’s the same as how he’s been all the way through his career.
“When it comes down to, ‘Does he fight again or doesn’t he fight again?’
“Yes, he will listen to people’s advice when it comes to opponents and things like that, but Derek wants to fight certain people.
“If he wants the fights, then they’ll happen. If I had my way, he wouldn’t be fighting Deontay Wilder, that’s for sure.”
