CRISTIANO RONALDO is hoping for divine inspiration to end his goalscoring drought … after his mum had an audience with the Pope.

The Manchester United superstar drew a blank in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Burnley after coming on as a sub.

However, Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro hopes to improve his fortunes after meeting Pope Francis at the Vatican on Wednesday morning.

She presented the football-loving Argentine pontiff with one of her son’s replica United shirts.

Dolores posted a picture of the meeting on Instagram.

She wrote: “A very unique emotion.  Thank you, Pope Francis.”

Portugal ace Ronaldo has scored 14 goals in 25 games since rejoining the Red Devils from Juventus last August.
