Atletico Madrid ‘want Aston Villa ace Matty Cash’ to replace Kieran Trippier after England defender’s Newcastle transfer

ATLETICO MADRID are reportedly chasing Aston Villa defender Matty Cash.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid are ‘seriously interested’ in signing Cash for next season.

Contact has already been made between the 24-year-old’s representatives and the current La Liga title holders.

Reports have also suggested that Diego Simeone is a big fan of the full-back.

Atletico have been in search of a new right back to replace Kieran Trippier, who joined Newcastle for a fee of £12million in January.

Cash joined Aston Villa in 2020 and has since impressed many with his consistent performances.

He has made 23 appearances so far this season, scoring once and registering one assist.

Whilst Steven Gerrard’s side were not interested in selling him during the January transfer window, they might be persuaded in the summer.
