THIERRY HENRY has named just four Manchester United players he believes can hold their heads high despite the club’s frustrating season.
The Red Devils were expected to challenge for the Premier League title after signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane in the summer.
But just months later, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been sacked and United are effectively out of the title race, well adrift of rivals Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Under Ralf Rangnick, the Old Trafford giants are once again trying to rediscover their identity.
But amid a tricky campaign, Arsenal legend Henry has claimed only Ronaldo, David de Gea, Fred and Bruno Fernandes have done their bit in trying to bring the glory days back to United.
Ahead of Thursday’s game against Burnley, Henry told Amazon Prime: “I think, Bruno Fernandes can [take credit].
“Fred, for me, has been finally reaching the level that people were expecting him to reach in recent matches.
“But I’m going to have to stay with De Gea [as my pick for United’s best player this season].

“I know people are talking a lot about Ronaldo and scoring goals at the end of the game to win games.
“But De Gea puts them in those positions, those situations for Ronaldo to be able to win them the game at the end.”
Ronaldo, though – along with Fernandes – came in for fierce criticism from United legend Gary Neville after storming off the pitch following the 1-1 draw with Newcastle.
But Henry leapt to the defence of the Portuguese duo, saying: “As always, it should be the team…
“I don’t think it’s right when a player at the end is singled out because he makes the team win the game.
“I think it has to be a team effort and a lot of people, for me, are getting away with you know what, and I won’t say because some might take it the wrong way, but it’s a bit too much at times.
“It’s too easy to attack Ronaldo, it’s too easy to attack Bruno Fernandes – the guys that are delivering.
“When you see the numbers, [Jadon] Sancho, [Anthony] Martial and [Marcus] ashford have fewer goals than [Maxwel] Cornet for Burnley, a team that is not often on the ball and not really dominating games.”
