SUMMER big-spenders Arsenal are preparing to splash the cash again in January as they target a statement signing up front.
Mikel Arteta has reportedly drawn up a three-man striker shortlist, with Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri viewed as a cheaper alternative to Dusan Vlahovic and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been frozen out since being stripped of the captain’s armband, and is linked with a move to Barcelona or Juventus.
Meanwhile Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out-of-contract in the summer, leaving Arsenal in desperate need of a marquee signing up front.
And transfer chief Edu has Fiorentina ace Vlahovic and Calvert-Lewin on a shortlist alongside En-Nesyri.
But after spending over £150million in the summer, a move for En-Nesyri may be preferred.
ESPN report that he has already been scouted by Arsenal, and represents a much cheaper option than both Vlahovic and Calvert-Lewin.

Fiorentina have reportedly slapped a £68million price-tag on Serbian superstar Vlahovic, while Calvert-Lewin also wouldn’t come cheap due to his Premier League pedigree.
En-Nesyri though is valued at just over £36million by transfermarkt.
The 24-year-old Moroccan international netted a credible 24 times in all competitions last season, helping Sevilla to a fourth-placed finish in La Liga.
Goals have been harder to come by this campaign, with just three since the summer.
Injury has restricted En-Nesyri to just 10 appearances so far this season, but there’s no denying his talent.
Vlahovic though still remains a target after the striker rejected Fiorentina’s latest offer of a new contract.
The Gunners, as well as Tottenham and Manchester United, are said to be on red alert over the goal machine and preparing to battle it out for the 21-year-old.
Meanwhile Calvert-Lewin has also been linked with a move to the Emirates.
Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has urged the club to put in a ‘massive bid’ for the England man, who has spent the majority of this season out with an injured toe.
