AN ANGRY Roy Keane has slammed Manchester United for failing to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a full-time appointment.
And the ex-United skipper once again blasted the current crop of players as ‘nowhere near good enough’ to wear the shirt.
Solskjaer was given his marching orders last week following defeat by Watford and replaced with his assistant Michael Carrick as caretaker.
German tactician Ralf Rangnick is set to take over as interim manager until next summer – a decision Keane isn’t happy with.
He said on Sky Sports: “It was disappointing for Ole to finish in such a low, obviously going through a difficult time – the Watford result was really poor and the performance.
“I’ve argued with (fellow pundit Jamie Carragher) about a manager getting enough time and Ole did get enough time and the results and the performances over the last couple of months have been really poor.
“So, there was no real surprise after the Watford game but the club now have to regroup, get somebody in and get the deed over the line.
“I don’t think it’s ideal, this interim stuff until the end of the season but it is what it is and they have to get on with it.

“But ultimately, when I look at the last few performances from the players, they’re nowhere near good enough for Man United but the manager paid the price.”
Keane hasn’t held back in his recent criticism of United’s current crop of stars, who currently sit 10th in the Premier League table.
He was accused of bullying club captain Harry Maguire after branding his performance against Liverpool as disgraceful.
The 50-year-old club legend also revealed he would have accepted the interim job at United if offered – but admitted the club would never call him.
Rangnick is set to take over at Old Trafford once details of his role beyond the end of the season are ironed out.
The ex-RB Leipzig boss – considered a godfather of modern football tactics – could become United’s director of football, or even take the job on a permanent basis.
