BIT TOO MUCH
This was the FOOTBALL when Peter Bankes rolled it along the ground during the pitch inspection…
Can’t see why it was called off!!!
SNOWBALL
The Tottenham team have already left the ground.
They found some time to enjoy some antics first though.
Kick-off WOULD be due any moment now…
GAME OFF
From a footballing perspective – it is a shame for fans of the Premier league.
It would have been intriguing to see how Spurs attempted to bounce back from their disappointing loss away at Mura in midweek.
It may have been a poor spectacle in the snow- as Dyche and referee Peter Bankes referred to.
SEAN DYCHE SPEAKS
“The ref explained to me that we’d have to keep stopping and clear the lines.
“Also, there’s the safety issue.
“I made it clear that I would play if we could.”
PETER BANKES SPEAKS
Today’s referee spoke to Sky Sports News.
“The ground staff worked as hard as they could.”
“The best thing to do was to call the game off – which we did after speaking to both managers.”
“There was going to be an opportunity to stop the game every 15 minutes but both managers were in agreement that the spectacle wouldn’t have been very good.”
DEVASTATING
You have to feel for this couple – who travelled from TEXAS to attend the game today..
SNOW PLAY
The game was scheduled to kick-off at 2pm GMT but the decision was made by referee Peter Bankes to postpone the match 50 minutes before kick-off.
NO DYCHE
Dyche has finally got his coat on. Hoping to get the big man’s reactions shortly.
GAME OFF
As Burnley added their team sheet to Twitter and then quickly removed it – the news filtered in that a decision had been made.
No football for us at Turf Moor today folks.
