BURNLEY picked up their first Premier League win of the season against division newcomers Brentford.
And Sean Dyche’s Clarets did so emphatic fashion, swatting away The Bees 3-1 at Turf Moor.
First-half goals from Chris Wood, Matthew Lowton and Maxwel Cornet bagged the Lancashire club their first three points of the season.
A 79th-minute strike from Sweden’s Saman Ghoddos proved to be a consolation for The Bees, who lacked the buzz they’d shown in the early stages of the season.
Victory hauled Burnley out of the bottom three and relieved some of the pressure on Dyche’s shoulders.
And Dyche will be hoping his troops will be able to build on their rout of Thomas Frank’s men, although they’ll face far stiffer competition in their next outing.
Burnley will be back in action next Saturday, travelling to Stamford Bridge to take on title challengers Burnley.
Brentford, meanwhile, will welcome Norwich to the Brentford Community Stadium.
