Manchester City are OUT! They have lost on penalties to West Ham at the London Stadium.

Tottenham are through with a 1-0 win at Burnley thanks to Lucas Moura.

Brentford, meanwhile, have won 2-1 at Stoke and the final game is in penalties between Leicester and Brighton.

  • HERE IT IS

The Origi flick, what a goal…

  • FT: PRESTON 0-2 LIVERPOOL

And that is that. Liverpool are into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Preston gave it a real go in the first half and really did miss their chance tonight.

Liverpool came good in the end with goals from Minamino and Origi to seal their place in Saturday’s draw.

    Another win for Klopp’s men.

  • PRESTON 0-2 LIVERPOOL

90, Three minutes of added time.

  • PRESTON 0-2 LIVERPOOL

83, What a finish from Origi to double Liverpool’s lead.

Tsimikas mishit his cross and it cannoned off the crossbar.

Williams was quickest to react and he squared it towards Origi, and the Belgian striker backheel flicked it out of the air over his head into the net.

A brilliant piece of improvisation from Origi has sealed this cup tie.

  • GOALLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!

Divock Origi! Liverpool have a second. They’re home and dry now.

  • PRESTON 0-1 LIVERPOOL

79, Curtis Jones makes some room for the shot, but it’s straight at the goalkeeper Rudd.

Decent opening that for the Liverpool midfielder but still the lead is only a single goal.

  • PRESTON 0-1 LIVERPOOL

75, Liverpool looking comfortable at the moment but it’ll get nervy soon unless they can grab a second goal.

Preston struggling to create many chances right now.

  • PRESTON 0-1 LIVERPOOL

69, The crowd have their tail up for this, they’ve seen their side trouble Liverpool plenty so far tonight.

Minamino’s goal was Liverpool’s first shot on target tonight, by the way.

  • PRESTON 0-1 LIVERPOOL

61, Finally a moment of quality from Liverpool in the final third and they have their goal.

Neco Williams found himself the furthest man forward from Adrian’s long ball.

And the young right back did very well to hold it up and get to the byline before crossing in for Minamino.

The Reds forward got across his marker in the six yard back and prodded the cross into the far corner.

    Lovely finish. Liverpool lead.

  • GOALLLLLLLLLL!!!!

It’s Minamino!!! Liverpool break through on the hour.

  • PRESTON 0-0 LIVERPOOL

54, Oxlade-Chamberlain works an opening and gets in the shot from distance… and it’s not too far wide.

That just bent away from goal at the last minute from Ox, good effort.

Second change for Liverpool as well as Conor Bradley on for Harvey Blair.

  • PRESTON 0-0 LIVERPOOL

51, Preston have started this second half a little further forward and almost on the front foot themselves.

They’re growing into this game and it’s Liverpool who are almost playing on the break now.

    Intriguing stuff.

  • PRESTON 0-0 LIVERPOOL

47, Immediately a chance for Minamino… and he can’t bring it under his control.

Oxlade-Chamberlain played in a brilliant diagonal through ball towards him and he was clean through on goal.

But he tried to control instead of volleying first time and missed the ball.

  • PEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPP!

    Second half underway at Deepdale.

  • CHANGES

A change for Liverpool at the break. Nat Phillips replaces Joel Matip in the centre of defence.

Pre-planned from Klopp or a problem for Matip?

Anyway, we’re ready to go again.

  • MATCH STATS

Here are some half-time stats from Sky Sports.

As you can see, all the ball for Liverpool but all the chances for Preston.

  • ELSEWHERE

No goals so far also at Turf Moor or the London Stadium.

But Leicester have a lead over Brighton and Brentford are two up at Stoke.

    Here’s the HT scores:

    • Burnley 0-0 Spurs
    • Leicester 2-1 Brighton
    • Preston 0-0 Liverpool
    • Stoke 0-2 Brentford
    • West Ham 0-0 Man City
  • HT: PRESTON 0-0 LIVERPOOL

And that’s the half-time whistle – it’s all square at the break.

Preston really should be in front, they’ve had some brilliant chances in the opening period.

Liverpool have dominated possession but not created anything of note. I think Klopp will be having a polite word or two with his players.

  • PRESTON 0-0 LIVERPOOL

43, Liverpool have had around 80 per cent possession in the first half but they’ve not gone anywhere with it as of yet.

Preston have created 3 or 4 glorious chances to their none.

  • PRESTON 0-0 LIVERPOOL

38, Tsimikas and Jones trying their hardest to make something happen but it’s really not clicking for Liverpool at the moment.

Liverpool loanee Sepp van den Berg is looking pretty solid in defence against his parent club.

  • PRESTON 0-0 LIVERPOOL

34, Rafferty is almost in behind this time and does well to get a corner out of it.

Really good this from Preston. Klopp might be thinking about using some of his bench stars in the second half if this carries on.

  • PRESTON 0-0 LIVERPOOL

28, Wow, how on earth has that not gone in for Preston, incredible.

First it was a point-blank save from Adrian to deny Maguire.

It then fell to Ledson on the rebound but his effort was blocked on the line by Williams.

And the rebound was skied over the bar from Potts from six yards.

What a chance. Liverpool incredibly lucky to escape.
