Arsenal ‘interested in Luka Jovic transfer with Real Madrid outcast, 23, seen as Alexandre Lacazette replacement’

ARSENAL have identified Real Madrid outcast Luka Jovic as a potential replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has played just 11 times for the Spanish giants over the last two seasons.

He showed a few promising signs while on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt during the 2020-21 campaign, netting four times in 18 games.

And, according to Fichajes, he could now be set to make a permanent move away from the Bernabeu, with Arsenal said to be monitoring him closely.

Real Madrid are thought to be keen to sell him as they look to try and raise some money for big transfer moves next summer.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been heavily linked with Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe after they failed to secure his services in the last window.

They are also looking at Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland as his release clause promises to make him a major bargain.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are on the lookout for a striker because of the contractual situation surrounding Lacazette.

The Frenchman’s current deal expires at the end of the season and there is a feeling his time may well be up at the Emirates.

Lacazette has scored 67 goals in 174 games for Arsenal since joining the club in 2017.

But he has featured in just two Premier League games so far in the 2021-22 campaign.

It was reported earlier this week that Lacazette has no intention of signing a new deal at Arsenal.

A number of Premier League clubs and across Europe have already shown interest in the forward.

Mega-rich Newcastle are believed to have put the former Lyon ace on their 10-man shortlist.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Sevilla and AC Milan are also said to be eyeing him up.
