DEONTAY WILDER’S fiancee Telli Swift was in tears ringside after the American was brutally knocked out by Tyson Fury.
Wilder was floored for the third and final time in the 11th round of a thrilling world heavyweight title bout at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
He had knocked Fury down twice himself in the fourth round of a topsy-turvy slugfest before succumbing late on to the second defeat of his career.
And Swift, who is a star of TV show WAGS Atlanta and has one child with the former heavyweight king, found it all too much as she watched on.
Wilder fared much better on Saturday night that in the pair’s second bout last February when he was totally dismantled in a seven-round KO loss and relinquished the WBC strap.
But the battered and bruised American, 35 – who had restored so much of his reputation with the performance, after accusing Fury of cheating his way to the February 2020 win – blew his chance to turn the iconic rivalry into a fantastic fighting friendship.
Fury, 33, revealed after his win that Wilder has refused to congratulate him.
The Brit said: “I said, ‘Well done.’ And he said, ‘I don’t wanna show any sportsmanship or respect.’ I said, ‘No problem.'”
“I was very surprised by that but he’s a sore loser, an idiot.
“To be a top fighting man, you’ve got to show guts and respect and he couldn’t do it tonight.
“And that’s it.”
“He couldn’t do it so I’ll pray for him. I’m just thankful we all got out the fight in one piece and go home to our lovely families”
