HEAVYWEIGHT Anthony Joshua’s brutal eye injury appears to be improving as he continues his road to recovery.
The Brit, 31, suffered a devastating blow to his right eye during his defeat to new world champ Oleksandr Usyk, 34, last month.
AJ looked a lot fresher on Monday morning as he posted an inspirational message to his 13million Instagram followers.
He wrote: “Have a great week whatever you got planned.”
Joshua was taken to hospital with a suspected broken eye socket after being dethroned by Usyk but didn’t suffer a fracture.
The undefeated Ukrainian outclassed AJ to win the fight by unanimous decision but the latter is determined to regain his belts.
Joshua has activated a rematch clause in their contract and it’s believed the two boxers could fight again in early 2022.
The two-time heavyweight champ has reassured fans his ‘spirit is strong’ and he’s learnt from his shock loss to Usyk.

He tweeted in September: “I’ve watched the fight, analysed my preparations & identified my mistakes. I’ve learnt my lesson.
“Thanks for sending love & checking in. Don’t worry about me. My spirit is strong!”
Former heavyweight champ David Haye has backed Joshua to regain his WBA, IBF and WBO world titles – if he uses his ‘physical attributes’.
But others, including Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren, have expressed doubts over AJ’s prospects against Usyk.
Warren recently wrote in Boxing Scene: “I cannot actually imagine a rematch turning out much differently.”
And boxing icon Ricky Hatton believes there’s more to come from Usyk and he could stop AJ in a rematch.
