Jake Paul comes out of retirement less than 48 hours after saying he was hanging up his gloves after win over Woodley

JAKE PAUL has ended his retirement from boxing – less than 48 hours after claiming to have hung up his gloves.

The social media superstar brought the curtain down on his boxing career less than 24 hours after his split decision victory over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

He tweeted: “Updated status: Retired boxer.”

But The Problem Child has since performed a U-turn on his retirement from the sweet science, tweeting: “Updated status: I’m coming out of retirement.”

Paul’s swift return came as no surprise as he talked up a number of potential fights after his narrow victory over Woodley.

Victory over Woodley, 39, saw YouTuber turned boxer Paul stretch his professional record to 4-0.

An incensed Woodley immediately called for a rematch, saying: “I feel like if that was the second biggest pay-per-view, then round two is gonna be bigger than that.

“I feel like I won the fight. I feel like Jake’s a great opponent. That’s why I came in great shape.

“The fact that one judge gave me two rounds is laughable.

“No disrespect, but f**k that [Tommy] Fury fight, me and Jake need to run that back”

Paul, 24, referencing a pre-fight bet, replied: “Get the tattoo and we’ll run it back.

“We got the tattoo artist right here, so you ain’t going nowhere.

“Wipe the sweat off and shave that leg, because I’m f*g putting, ‘I love Jake Paul’ on your leg and we can run it back”

Woodley immediately agreed to get the tatt inked on his skin and has urged Paul to honour his side of the post-fight agreement.

During an appearance on The MMA Hour, he said: “He’s trying to back out of it.

“He’s being a coward. I’m calling you out: You’re being a coward.

“I’m willing to be a man and honour my end of the deal. He made a new deal, since he’s the one that makes the bets.

“Now the bet blew up in your face. Let’s do it. I’m willing and I will.

“If I’ve got to get my own tattoo artist, I think I’m sliding to L.A., let’s get it cracking.

“But I need to see some paperwork, because him and his manager are starting to get real [shady].

“He told me in there, he said, ‘Tyron, I give you my word.’

“This is what [Paul representative] Nakisa [Bidarian] told me, ‘Tyron, I give you my word.’

“And he’s been solid — he’s never told me one thing and not been solid about it.

“I got a lot of love for Nakisa. He said, ‘If you get the tattoo tonight, we’ll give you the rematch.’ And I said, ‘Bet. Let’s run it.’”
