CONOR McGREGOR still has hope of rematching Floyd Mayweather – but first he needs to ‘kick some ass’ again.
That is according to the boxing legend’s cousin Dejuan Blake, who has been a trusted member of his team since 2002.
And he watched as McGregor was beaten by Mayweather in 2017, which sparked a decline in performance for the Irishman.
The former two-weight UFC champion has won just ONCE since trading the ring for the cage, most recently losing twice on the spin to Dustin Poirier.
And despite continuing to be a pay-per-view and commercial star, McGregor has been warned his fists need to start doing the talking.
Blake told SunSport: “As long as Conor keeps talking s***, anybody will want to get in there with him, because he’s a marketable motherf***er.
“He markets the s*** out of himself, he’s a marketing genius, I kid you not. But, you’ve also got to kick some ass too.
“If you’re not kicking no ass, and just talking a lot of s***, a lot of people don’t want to see that s*** no more.”

McGregor, 33, was in talks to fight Manny Pacquiao, 42, in a lucrative return to the ring last year.
But those plans were dramatically scrapped after Poirier, the man he initially beat in 2014, knocked him out in their rematch in January.
And the trilogy ended in an even bigger disaster for McGregor, who broke his tibia seconds before the end of round one, losing by doctor stoppage.
Beforehand, he opened the door to a rematch with Mayweather – but now fights to keep his career alive.
Mayweather, meanwhile has continued to goad his old rival, mocking McGregor for his horror leg break.
And Blake admits the UFC poster boy is likely one of the only opponent’s his cousin would be convinced to return for.

He said: “The only thing I would have said was Conor.
“Conor sold tickets like he was a real boxer, he sold out the arena. Floyd didn’t really have to sell the fight.
“It was a win-win for Floyd, less work and a bigger reward.”
Mayweather officially retired after beating McGregor in ten rounds, but has been seen between the ropes twice since, both in exhibition bouts.
The first was a 2018 one round demolition job against featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan.
And then in June, he made his comeback after three years out to face YouTube star Logan Paul, 26, who weighed TWO STONE more.
Paul surprisingly survived all eight rounds and with no knockout scored, a winner was not declared.

Afterwards, Mayweather poured cold water on lacing up the gloves again, but Blake warned not to rule it out – the the price is right.
He said: “If the money is right, Floyd’s there.
“Will we be able to see him again? Maybe, in an exhibition. But never in a real boxing match.”
