Strongman Hall is recovering from surgery last month

Fans on both Instagram and Twitter have wished Hall well, and want to see him back as soon as possible.

One replied to Hall’s tweet saying: “Congrats big man I just had brain surgery 8 days ago … on the recovery train too.”

While another questioned why Hall isn’t in Tokyo competing for Team GB in weightlifting.

The fan said: “Why aren’t you weightlifting at the Olympics for Team GB?

“Genuine question cos you’d almost be guaranteed the Gold surely?”

The Strongman-turned-boxer was set to face Game of Thrones star Hafthor Bjornsson in an exhibition bout, but it has been delayed due to Hall’s injury.

Hall explained how he caused the detachment by throwing a “lazy left hook” while in training.

He said on Instagram: “Little bit of bad news. On Monday I threw a bit of a lazy left hook in training and detached my bicep.

I’m doing everything I can to recover as quickly as I can and I’m looking forward to getting back to training. I’m most looking forward to ripping Thor’s face off.

“Good news is I had the surgery on Thursday, it was a complete success. The bicep’s reattached I’m able move it already, even after two days.

“Bad news is the fight is going to have to be delayed, it won’t be going ahead on September 18.

“I’m doing everything I can to recover as quickly as I can and I’m looking forward to getting back to training. I’m most looking forward to ripping Thor’s face off.”

Thor also expressed his disappointment in the fight being delayed in a statement.

He said: “Super disappointed but this is not in my hands.

“Next up is finding a new opponent so I can fight in September. I’m taking this extremely serious and I’ll be even more prepared. When Eddie is ready, I’ll be waiting.”

But it appears Hall is well and truly on the road to recovery as he got back to work hitting the speed ball with his left arm.

And the fight being dubbed ‘The Heaviest Boxing Match in History’ will take place at a later date.
