Arsenal eye £30m Bruno Guimaraes transfer after 18-month chase as cash-strapped Lyon may be forced into selling

ARSENAL are reportedly eyeing a £30million move for Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

Goal claims the Gunners see the Brazilian as an alternative to Manuel Locatelli.

And talks with Lyon have already started, as the cash-strapped French side need to raise funds.

Guimaraes, 23, has been at Lyon for just 18 months after a £15m move from Athletico Paranaense in January 2020.

In that time he’s impressed with three goals in 46 appearances.

And Guimaraes’ fine form was rewarded with a debut Brazil cap in November.

Arsenal are now said to be targeting him after struggling to secure a deal for Locatelli.

The Sassuolo ace, who helped Italy to glory at Euro 2020, is Mikel Arteta’s top target this summer.

However, Juventus are also in the running for his coveted signature.

And Locatelli would prefer to stay in Serie A after proving doubters wrong.
