Scotland flag with words ‘We’ll be Back’ mysteriously appears behind goal in Italy end at England Euro 2020 final

WEMBLEY has been bedecked by English and Italian flags tonight for the Euro 2020 final.

But Scotland still managed to be represented somehow – with a SALTIRE immediately behind the goal where the Italian fans were placed.

TV pictures showed an image with a picture of Arnold Schwarzenegger, a smiley face emoji and the words “Well be back’ written on it.

And all this with Scotland exiting at the group stages, having scored one goal and conceded five.

Meanwhile, while Scotland haven’t been involved at Euro 2020 for almost three weeks, England fans are still chanting about them.

The national team’s hopes of advancing to the knockout stages were ended by Croatia at Hampden last month.

In contrast, the Auld Enemy have made it all the way to the final and are set to face off against Italy for a shot at glory at Wembley this evening.

England fans have been gathering in the streets of London ahead of the big clash.

Meanwhile, Michael Stewart hopes Celtic star David Turnbull could be the “difference maker” in the final third which he feels Scotland are missing.

Steve Clarke’s men registered just one goal in three group matches at Euro 2020, the kind of return which was never likely to get us into the knockout stages.

Despite a stellar season in a poor Celtic effort at club level, 22-year-old Turnbull saw NO playing time whatsoever at the Euro 2020 finals.

But Stewart told BBC Sportsound that accommodating the attacking midfielder in his line-up could help propel Scotland forward under Steve Clarke.

We currently sit second in our World Cup qualifying group, with our next outing a daunting challenge against Euro 2020 semi-finalists Denmark.

Stewart said: “I think we have got quality players that can go and compete at that level.

“The big problem is that difference maker in that final third that we don’t have – like a striker or someone who can score a goal out of nothing.

“To a certain extent that is where David Turnbull comes in – he is someone who with his striking ability, in terms of hitting the target, making goalkeepers work.
