Inter have confirmed Inzaghi has signed a two-year deal at the Italian champions in a short statement on their website.
He is the younger brother of AC Milan legend Filippo Inzaghi, who won two Champions League titles during an 11-year stint at the San Siro.
The new Inter manager’s CV is also very impressive, winning Serie A, three Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups and the Uefa Super Cup during his 11 years at Lazio.
Inzaghi became Lazio boss in 2016 and enjoyed substantial success during his five-year spell, winning the Italian Cup and two Italian Super Cups.
He also guided the Rome-based club to Champions League qualification in 2019-20.
News of Inzaghi’s appointment comes as little surprise, with star player Romelu Lukaku telling the press he’d spoken to the new coach.

The ex-Chelsea striker has also confirmed he will be staying at the San Siro next season, despite rumoured interest from his former club.
Inzaghi’s predecessor Conte resigned following a row with Inter’s owners, believed to be about their worrying financial state.
The Italian champions reportedly need to sell players this summer to balance the books.
Defender Achraf Hakimi has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Chelsea.
There is also speculation about midfielder Christian Eriksen’s future following the change of management.
Conte is now being linked with the vacant position at Tottenham, with reports suggesting he’s in advanced talks with the Premier League side.
