Seven Chelsea first-team stars fighting to save their future under Thomas Tuchel including Tammy Abraham and Ziyech

TAMMY ABRAHAM and Hakim Ziyech are just two of the Chelsea stars fighting to save their future at Stamford Bridge.

Thomas Tuchel’s squad faces a major overhaul this summer, which puts doubts over some of the current crop of Blues stars.

Tuchel will be assessing his players until the end of the season, and as the games go on it is starting to become clear who he rates and trusts – and who he doesn’t.

These are seven Chelsea players who will be fighting for their futures at the club from now until the end of the season.

But who’s fighting for their very place in the squad? Check out the list, below…

TAMMY ABRAHAM

The England striker clearly is just not fancied by Tuchel. He is lucky to even make the bench these days, let alone get any minutes.

With his contract running out in 2023, the club will soon begin contemplating whether to cash in on him, or persuade him to sign an extension.

Things can change very quickly, as we have already seen this season.

Abraham was a regular under Frank Lampard, but now I can only see him moving on this summer to get first team minutes.

MARCOS ALONSO

The former Spanish international was another who looked destined to leave under Frank Lampard.

But with Tuchel arriving and giving his players a clean slate, his future is perhaps a little more unclear now.

At the moment, Tuchel seems to be swaying towards Ben Chilwell as his regular left-wing-back.

But Alonso will get more games in the run-in and a chance to save his Chelsea career.

Once again though, I can see him leaving the club this summer to have his one last swansong in his home country as he nears the latter end of his career.

KEPA ARRIZABALAGA

The Spaniard has lost his position in the Spain squad in recent months and – like Alonso – he might get a chance to play a couple more games in the run-in.

I believe the Chelsea board wanted him to have more chances and refused to give up on him.

But at the end of the day Kepa’s Chelsea future now looks very bleak and I think he will leave in the summer thanks to Edouard Mendy’s arrival.

HAKIM ZIYECH

He is a little in and out of the starting line up under Tuchel and despite his clear talents, I am doubtful whether he has the physicality to suit the Premier League.

I wonder whether he is also doubting making the move here.

This is the only reason he is placed on this list, and I feel that Tuchel prefers others over him in his position right now.

KURT ZOUMA

The centre back that is currently last in Tuchel’s pecking order, yet he was first in Lampard’s.

That is just another example of how much things have changed in these last three months, and as a result, Zouma’s Chelsea future is now in jeopardy.

I can’t see him being happy as a bit-part player and unless he can be given the chance to really prove himself soon, then I think he will ask to leave this summer.

JORGINHO

The Italian international has been in impeccable form since January, the best I’ve seen him play for Chelsea.

Much like Alonso, Jorginho looked destined to leave back in the Lampard days.

Now though, I am not so sure. We know that his agent keeps speaking about an Italy return and that does seem to be on the cards one day.

But with his current form and the fact he seems to be really enjoying himself, I’m not so sure that he leaves this summer.

He could well be playing his way into Tuchel’s future plans.

CHRISTIAN PULISIC

You may be surprised to see him on this list after his excellent recent performances and I am still adamant that he stays this summer being back in favour.

But you only have to think back to a few weeks ago when Tuchel was not really trusting him and with his history with injuries recently.

There is always a chance either side considers their futures this summer.

I don’t think he leaves, but he will probably need to continue with the fine performances to put any rumours to bed.
