Cristiano Ronaldo trolled by Nemanja Matic as he shows angle which reveals ball did NOT cross line amid Portugal fury

CRISTIANO RONALDO and Bruno Fernandes were trolled by Serbia star Nemanja Matic after the Portugal captain’s ‘goal’ was not given.

The Juventus hero, 36, was controversially denied an injury-time winner in his country’s World Cup qualifier in Belgrade at the weekend.

He was convinced his angled shot crossed the line before it was cleared by defender Stefan Mitrovic – and television replays proved Ronaldo was right.

However, the officials were unconvinced and – with no goal-line technology or VAR available – refused to award the goal.

Now Manchester United midfielder Matic has hilariously mocked Ronaldo as well as current Old Trafford team-mate Fernandes with a cheeky photoshopped snap.

The midfielder was not involved in the match but that didn’t stop him taping a picture of the ‘clearance’ on Fernandes’ locker at United’s training ground – with the line moved back.

Matic, 32, then uploaded this handiwork to Instagram, tagged in the Portuguese pair and wrote: “Just on the line. Is it all clear now?”

Furious Ronaldo was booked for protesting before storming off the pitch at the final whistle.

He hurled away his captain’s armband in disgust in his latest meltdown.

Referee Danny Makkelie apologised for his gaffe but former Portugal international Fernando Meira was not impressed, stating Ronaldo ‘set a bad example’ with his ‘unacceptable behaviour’.

And Ronaldo could now face a Fifa sanction as a result of it.

He later took to Instagram to vent his frustrations, posting: “I always give and will give everything for my country, that will never change.

“But there are difficult times to deal with, especially when we feel that an entire nation is being harmed.

“We will keep our heads up and face the next challenge now.”
