Warnock – whose first-team were beaten 4-1 by Brentford just 24 hours before – was incensed on several occasions and could be heard explicitly questioning the officials.

After Leeds were awarded a free-kick in their own half, the veteran manager was heard shouting: “Consistent ref, eh?

“You’ll give them all day man!”

Later on, while a Boro player was receiving treatment after a challenge, Warnock, 72, said: “He said he saw it here and didn’t think it was malicious?

“He’s given one in here for f*** all and then that one in here.”

Middlesbrough named first-team regulars Ashley Fletcher and Grant Hall in their under-23 side on Sunday.

It comes as the two continue their recovery from injury they could not prevent Leeds running out 4-2 winners.

Joe Geldhart scored twice with Nohan Kenneh and Max Dean making it 4-0 heading into the interval.

Callum Sykes grabbed his own double to reduce the scoreline in front of first-team boss Warnock.

Warnock appeared to carry on his bad mood after Boro were beaten by promotion rivals Brentford at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday.

They lead after just three minutes through David Raya’s own goal.

But Ivan Toney’s pair of goals and strikes from Vitaly Janelt and Mathias Jensen turned the game around.

It leaves Boro five points behind sixth-placed Bournemouth in the final Championship play-off spot.
