Lionel Messi ‘has not decided transfer future yet’ as Barcelona deal runs down amid Man City and PSG links

LIONEL MESSI has not decided where his future lies yet with his Barcelona contract quickly running down.

The Argentine star, 33, is out of contract in the summer after nearly 20 years at the Nou Camp.

Messi has been linked with both Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain ever since threatening to quit last summer.

But Goal have now claimed Messi has not held talks with ANY club, despite being free to do so since January 1.

Ever since the turn of the year, players out of contract at the end of the current campaign have been free to negotiate pre-contract terms with other clubs.

Bayern Munich star David Alaba is believed to have held talks with Real Madrid as he edges towards a move to the Bernabeu.

But Messi, widely expected to quit after a fall-out with Barcelona bosses last summer, has not yet discussed his future with any club.

The legendary forward is not able to speak with Spanish clubs until the season is over.

And the report claims Messi WILL wait until the season is over and he is officially a free agent to decide where he wants to play in the 2021-22 season, putting LaLiga clubs on red alert.

Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta recently claimed Messi wants to stay at the Nou Camp after denying he was responsible for the leak.

In December, Messi claimed he still ‘doesn’t know’ what he will do in the summer.

Messi recently had his astonishing contract with Barca leaked.

The 30-page document showed he was earning a staggering £123million per year across the last four years, for a total of £492m, the most lucrative contract in the history of sport.

It also revealed Messi earned a £102m renewal fee at the time of signing in 2017 and a £69m ‘loyalty’ bonus every year.

The Argentine will even pocket a £35m pay-day if he chooses to quit Barcelona this summer.

Messi is now reportedly ready to go to war with the Barcelona hierarchy by suing five ‘suspects’ following the leak.
