Man Utd starlet Facundo Pellistri set to join Alaves on loan transfer until end of season to get 19-year-old more action

MANCHESTER UNITED winger Facundo Pellistri is tipped to join Alaves on loan until the summer for much-needed game-time.

The 19-year-old’s United career has Pelli-flopped in its first season but Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sure it will go swimmingly once he gains senior experience.

A LaLiga deal is the likely springboard for the Uruguay starlet, with Alaves reportedly agreeing a deal in principle.

Goal suggest the £9milion summer signing will jet to Spain on Sunday to complete the move, providing contract details have been settled.

And it is thought third-bottom Alaves will pay part of the ex-Penarol wideman’s wages.

Pellistri has yet to play for United’s first-team, despite recovering from coronavirus soon after joining.

He was on the bench for Champions League group games with PSG and Istanbul Basaksehir but never came on.

And, with 18-year-old Amad Diallo immediately earning a place in United’s squad after joining from Atalanta this month, Pellestri is now even further away from Solskjaer’s current plans.

But Solskjaer said: “Facundo has the perfect platform at Man United to develop and he has all of the technical qualities and the right mentality required to become a top player here.

“We are all looking forward to working with him to fulfil his potential over the coming years.”
