THIS was the month Manchester United were ready to let go of Paul Pogba.
The financial implications of the pandemic probably blocked any big money move. Nobody could afford an asking price north of £100million.

So Pogba and his irritating agent Mino Raiola realised he would have to stay put.
All this time Manchester United manager Ole Solskjaer has stayed calm and patient.
His predecessor Jose Mourinho called the French World Cup Winner out for his poor club performances. He was right.
What he did for France on their way to winning the World Cup was nothing like the poor performances he was putting in for United – not so now.
Solskjaer knew that they still had a player who could turn this club’s fortunes around.
So he handled questions of Pogba’s future calmly.
He talked about a player’s capabilities that we had seen during his glory laden period at Juventus.
And we waited, and waited and now United fans are seeing the real Paul Pogba.
The one who scored the winner at Burnley and again at Fulham. The imposing presence United need in this title run in.
It is no exaggeration to say that Pogba could be the difference in this run in between four or five clubs for the title.
And still there is so much more to come from him. There is so much more to come from United.
Solskjaer knows it. The manager has overseen the quiet evolvement of this team.
He has not only bought well, but got better out of what he had.

Have no doubts this is a very good Manchester United team.
One with the belief, age and ability not only to win this title but to stay up there.
Solskajer asked for time. He has been given it. Now look at the result.
