ARSENE WENGER should be brought back to Arsenal to help Mikel Arteta and the board, according to former Gunners ace Charlie Nicholas.
The North London club endured a horror start to the 2020-21 season, their worst since 1974-75.

Arsenal have since won four games straight, including three in the league.
And Nicholas reckons Wenger’s return would help the club keep up their hot run of form.
The French legend, 71, spent 22 years at the Gunners, leaving as their most-successful boss in history with three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups.
But it wasn’t just Wenger’s managerial ability, it was his work in the transfer market, according to Nicholas.

Nicholas told Paddy Power: “I suggested about two years ago they should bring Arsene Wenger back to Arsenal.
“When Wenger and David Dein were a partnership that was bringing in Thierry Henrys and Patrick Vieiras.
“It was a partnership the manager wanted. Their relationship worked an absolute treat.
“Wenger was probably too intelligent for football and wanted to have a say in the finances of it too.

“Dein would say, ‘if we can afford it, we’re just going to get you the player.’ It worked so well.”
Nicholas continued: “I’d still take him back now… he’d not be a threat to Arteta, he’d be there to help him.
“He’s a genuine Arsenal fan, and because of that he’ll show the leadership and understanding the club needs.
“If Arsene was to call or turn up to meet a player from Atletico Madrid or Barcelona or Real Madrid, there’s a strong chance he’d help get those deals over the line because of his presence and his reputation.
“I still think he could play a marvellous part in teaching Arteta the real rules of the management game.”
However, Wenger recently revealed he has no intention of returning to Arsenal, saying ‘you must not do the same thing twice’.
Wenger insisted: “I remain an Arsenal fan. They are the club that I love, and I worked there for 22 years.
“I hope their current sufferings are just temporary. I will continue supporting them in any event.
“They have been one of the loves of my life.
“But you must not do the same thing twice.”
