Another Arsenal outcast Ozil congratulated Kolasinac on Twitter for his contribution to the start of Schalke’s revival.

The tough-tackling Bosnia and Herzegovina star enjoyed a successful first spell at Schalke which resulted in his move to Arsenal in 2017.

Kolasinac completed his return to Schalke on loan at the end of December after falling out of favour with the Gunners.

The 27-year-old full-back was brought back into a struggling Schalke side and immediately lifted his team-mates.

Kolasinac was handed the captaincy against Hoffenheim and inspired the team to a desperately needed win.

Former Tottenham manager Christian Gross was named as Schalke’s shock new boss recently and he placed his faith in Kolasinac.

The defender even moved into midfield towards the end of the game as Schalke played with a swagger to secure their first victory of the Bundesliga season.

Kolasinac will remain with Schalke until the end of the season but the German side could push for a permanent move.

His future at Arsenal looks remote with Kieran Tierney holding down the first-team position and Kolasinac featuring in just one Premier League game this season.

Ozil has also been sidelined in London, failing to make an appearance this season for Arsenal and the Β£350,000 a week outcast is reportedly in talks over a move to Fenerbahce.
