He promised to win by KO in only two rounds and insisted Davis’ reputation is on the line.

Garcia told TMZ Sports: “I’m on one mission. I’m on a mission to knock out Gervonta Davis in two rounds.

“This man will go down, two rounds – that’s a promise.

“If you do not take this next fight from me, you will not be remembered.

“Your legacy will forever be tainted if you do not accept this fight.”

Davis, 26, responded to Garcia, 22, online and appeared to confirm the fight is a done deal.

In a now deleted-tweet, he wrote: “Lol, when I ever been a bitch?!

“You know who you talked to 10 mins before ya ring walk..the fight already been made..now..shut up and get ready!”

Davis has campaigned mostly at super-featherweight in his career, winning the title three times.

But he did step up to lightweight in December 2019, beating Yuriorkis Gamboa for the WBA’s secondary ‘Regular’ belt.

Davis and Garcia have long rivalled each other, and even agreed to settle their feud in sparring.

But the gym session never materialised and tempers have since boiled, with the two regularly trading words online.

The fight will need both their promoters to come together and rivalling networks to partner up.

Davis fights on Showtime under Mayweather Promotions while Garica is Oscar De La Hoya’s new star for Golden Boy, who feature on DAZN.

Mayweather has a storied past with De La Hoya, having beaten him in 2007 selling 2.4milllion pay-per-views, a record at the time.

They have worked together since, but it did not stop De La Hoya from recently calling out his fellow legend for a rematch.
