Defensa Central claims Mikel Arteta is still tracking Vinicius Jr after adding him to a transfer shortlist last month.
The winger, 20, has scored three goals in 21 games this season.
But he is yet to fully establish himself as a regular starter in Zinedine Zidane’s team.
A move to the Emirates could provide Vinicius Jr with an important role, allowing him to add to the one senior Brazil cap he earned in 2019.
Arsenal have already proposed a loan move to Real Madrid, with Dani Ceballos already in north London.
But Los Blancos are insisting they will not part ways with Vinicius Jr, even on a temporary basis.
It means the Gunners will have to look elsewhere for a new creative force in the final third.
Borussia Dortmund whizz Julian Brandt is thought to be on Arteta’s radar.

And Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Norwich’s Emi Buendia.
The Argentine ace would jump at the chance to leave the Championship for a Premier League return.
And Arsenal could sweeten the pot by including Reiss Nelson or Joe Willock in a deal with the Canaries.
